I assume you are on about the CME UF5 midi controller keyboard. If so then ive been looking to buy that as well.been doing a lot of reading up on it and it looks ace. I would imagine it would integrate quite well with ableton 6 as you would just assign what parameters you want to control to what knob or fader you want on the keyboard. The only down side i have read about so far regarding this keyboard is apparently the usb function is poor, so best to just use the midi cables for connecting it.

Hope this helps you my friend!! I'm really into this as a controller! My reason is the built in EXPANSION port on the back and the fact that WALDORF has a board that fits into this called the Waldorf Nano that turns the CME controller into a micro, MICRO Q!! The expanision board is $200 and the controller is a little more then that so for under $500, you essentially have a usb controller and a waldorf micro Q!

Of all the company's to team up with. Now that's a collaboration! Bummer to hear about the usb flaking out.

How do you know that, if you don't mind me asking? I would be using this controller as my primary usb controller as my soundcard does not have midi (allthough I can make it work with rca to midi cinch jacks). I'll say it again here: the UF has a really nice touch, it's well built really apart from the faders and some wobbly transport keys (at least on mine) but the usb driver is (quite officially if you read their forums) worthless.

I had to set up mine using miditranslator to recognize some of the functions, there are midi cable only connecion workarounds if you use Logic or another app that can receive midi system messages (or something similar, Live does not). But if you plan to use it just to play with excellent action at a bargain price, the Cme is wonderful. Rikhyray wrote:Be warned the Waldorf soiunds great but is almost impossible to use. There is only one way communication so you never know in which bank/patch you are. The stand alone version will be available soon. The keys are definitely better then any M audio or any other brand only Novation SL has better ones. Standalone version of the Nano?

Re:CME UF5 Controller Keyboard with Windows 7, Sonar X2, RME Babyface 2016/07/16 21:50:44 the only solution for this is to power it with a dc power supply and connect midi through the standard midi out to your hardware or to a computer using a usb interface.

Rik, is this going to be the first 'new' Waldorf product to hit the market (besides the nano for CME)? Could be interesting at the right price.

I thought it was kind of an odd first thing to release after Waldorf has been gone for years now. I mean, there just aren't that many people who have CME controllers.

Have you heard anything else new from Waldorf? It seems like they are getting ready to clear out a lot of old stock synths that they must have had holed up in a warehouse in Germany or something.

So as a midi controller/keyboard connected with a midi cable this is perfect for controlling my vst's in ableton.thats all ill be using it for. All i want to do is assign the parameters from my vst instruments to those on the CME and control from there.it would also be a boost if i could save the settings as well so im not assigning knobs all day.
